Bait -   - No this is not a dog that has been taken out of the game.  it is a show that you are forced remain in the building until the VERY VERY END of the day. Hopefully banned since the pandemic because 6 inches of separation between you and your neighbor is impossible for bait. I like cooked hotdog slices ( beware the additives in hotdogs can cause stomach issues), breaded chicken pieces (easy to get at most fast food chains and will last all weekend in a cooler, any of the super expensive air dried foods (brands like Ziwi, The Real Meat Company), freeze dried (brands like Steves, Stella and Chewy)  Bait is also called bra leftovers as many women will tuck bait into their bra if they do not have a bait bag or pockets at hand.

Benched  - No this is not a dog that has been taken out of the game.  it is a show that you are forced remain in the building until the VERY VERY END of the day. Hopefully banned since the pandemic because 6 inches of separation between you and your neighbor is impossible.

Best - The last show of the day that only winners of the group competitions are going to and those curious if their favorite will make it. There is a Best In Show for both those with dogs on handlers and another for those the handle dogs they own.  

Class - What class is your dog in? You want to enter your dog in one class not multiple for one reason. Keeping track of where you lost. The options are Amateur-Owner-Handler, Bred-by-Exhibitor, American-bred, and then the easiest Open. Just stick to Open and make sure you use a date time calculator to get your dog's birthday correct because sometimes you will enter your puppy in a 9-12 month Puppy class on Saturday and his birthday will mean you are entering him in adult Open on Sunday. This option in the dog show is what causes the most headaches and confusion is only second to keeping count of points and majors.

Clusters - The fancy name for the event the kennel clubs organizing the shows on a specific weekend give to the event. You won't find this name anywhere except on the premium list, kennel club sites, and Facebook.
